Dr Piotr Arabas

Research interests: cybersecurity, hierarchical systems, heuristic algorithms, computer networks, social and complex networks

Piotr Arabas is involved in modeling and control of computer networks and computing systems. In his research work, he has developed processor and computer system energy models, as well as a proposal for the architecture of a hierarchical cloud computing management system. He tries to build multi-level systems using autonomous algorithms embedded in hardware, but also to enable coordination at the scale of a complex system, to take into account technical and organizational constraints. He believes in the validity of transferring experience from the field of social (complex) networks to the field of computer networks, which in essence is a return to the pioneering concepts of Paul Beran’s Internet.
