AI-Powered Innovative Toolkit for Cybersecurity Hubs (AIPITCH)

In an international consortium, we are working on artificial intelligence-based tools to support key services of operational teams responsible for cybersecurity.

Challenge

The project is implemented under the DIGITAL-ECCC-2024-DEPLOY-CYBER-06-ENABLINGTECH program and its main goal is to provide a comprehensive set of AI-based tools to support key services of operational teams responsible for cybersecurity. Special emphasis will be placed on the activities of teams responsible for national security, but internal teams responsible for the security of companies and institutions will also be able to use them.

What we do?

The project will carry out a series of research and development as well as implementation work, including but not limited to:

  1. Providing a secure, user-friendly, high-quality artificial intelligence-based chatbot tool for quickly and conveniently reporting incidents and suspicious activity.
  2. Using artificial intelligence tools to provide cybersecurity response teams with early warning and classification of the latest exploits, malware, and phishing campaigns.
  3. Using large language models (LLMs) to process large amounts of data from security systems, threat reports or reports from various sources.
  4. Improving cybersecurity operations by integrating AI and LLM functions with key operational tools and processes such as network traffic monitoring, log analysis, incident response and risk analysis.
  5. Creating large-scale datasets of the latest attacks on Internet-connected devices. This will allow AI models to be trained to better and faster predict and counter new threats.

NASK PIB is the leader of the consortium, and it is made up of the organizations:

  • CIRCL/ LHC (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg, Luxembourg),
  • Shadowserver Foundation (Stichting The Shadowserver Foundation Europe, Netherlands),
  • NCBJ (National Center for Nuclear Research, Poland),
  • ABI LAB (Centre of Research and Innovation for Banks, Italy).

The project’s budget is almost € 8 million, of which NASK PIB will account for less than € 3 million.
