Workshops of the NASK Research and Development Center with the NCBR National Contact Point

04.03.2026

The workshops took place on 24 February and were designed to strengthen researchers’ competencies in securing European funding and to prepare them for upcoming changes in the European Union’s grant policy.

Role of the National Contact Point

The National Contact Point, operating within the National Centre for Research and Development, is responsible for disseminating information on EU competitions for research and development projects. Experts at the NCP are appointed by the European Commission as National Contact Points, which means they support Polish research institutions in preparing proposals, identifying suitable calls, and navigating the application process. Through direct cooperation with European Commission units, the NCP is one of the most reliable sources of information on current and upcoming funding opportunities.

Workshop Topics

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the key assumptions of the new EU Framework Programme for 2028–2034. These changes will significantly influence the work of research institutions, making early strategic planning, identification of priority areas, and timely preparation of project concepts essential for successfully competing for European funds. In the second part of the meeting, NCP experts presented current funding opportunities within the existing framework programme, with particular emphasis on calls relevant to the research profile of NASK PIB.

Outcomes and Significance

The workshops attracted strong interest and active participation from attendees. The knowledge gained will undoubtedly contribute to the development of new research initiatives and high‑quality grant proposals, supporting the advancement of Polish research in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

We extend our sincere thanks to the representatives of the National Contact Point — Dr. Piotr Świerczyński, Director of the NCP, Dr. Weronika Gawęda, and Dagmara Robakowska‑Hyżorek — for conducting the workshops and sharing their valuable expertise.
