Agreement between NASK and the University of Queensland

NASK, Poland’s National Research Institute, and the University of Queensland (UQ) have just signed a cooperation agreement. This partnership will leverage our expertise in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to drive innovative research and educational initiatives.

The University of Queensland, established in 1909 and located in Brisbane, Australia, is one of the leading research and teaching institutions. UQ boasts a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and advanced facilities. It consistently ranks among the top universities worldwide, holding the 51st position in the ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities). UQ is renowned for its dedication to innovation and excellence across diverse fields, including science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences.

 

The cooperation between NASK and UQ focuses on interdisciplinary research and technology development of advanced technologies in cybersecurity, computer science, artificial intelligence, and knowledge transfer and exchange programs, including joint supervision of doctoral students, providing them with a comprehensive research environment and guidance.

 

One of the flagship projects under this cooperation involves the development of sophisticated methods for detecting hate speech, leveraging the strengths of both institutions in AI and data analysis. This project aims to create a safer and more inclusive online environment while equipping police authorities with advanced tools.
